Your Miami Calligrapher: Sanique
Hi I’m Sanique, the chief calligrapher, engraver, and live event artist behind Sanique + Co., an inclusive calligraphy and engraving studio located in the Miami/ Fort Lauderdale, Florida area.
Raised in Miami, Florida, I attended the University of Florida for my bachelor’s degree and the University of Miami for my masters degree. I am a Florida girl to the core and am proud to still call Miami home!
A few more details:
During primary school, I was obsessed with letters. I loved tracing them, decorating them with floral doodles, and I even tried practicing writing letters with my non-dominant hand. I never thought of myself as an artistic type but I have always been drawn to the many ways in which 26 letters could be written. In 2018, as I tried to find a creative outlet after over a decade of being in the healthcare field as a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner, I found my home in calligraphy.
When I’m not doing calligraphy, you’ll likely finding me running around my neighborhood in Miami with my rescue pup, Penny, a chihuahua + Italian greyhound mix (and unofficial Chief Morale Officer of Sanique + Co.). You may also find me practicing my German (still a long way to go!) or listening to happiness and habit forming tips from Gretchen Rubin.
I started Sanique + Co. because I want to share my passion for this beautiful art form with you. Whether you’re looking to add elegant touches to an event or to personalize a gift for someone special, I’m here to help you bring your ideas to life!
