Stitching Memories: Hand Embroidery at Alo Yoga's Sweet Sleep Capsule Launch
When I was a little girl, it was almost a given that I would learn some kind of needle art. My grandmother was a dressmaker and most of my aunts did either embroidery, crochet, or sewing. Embroidery was the first needle art I learned and the only one that stuck…at least for a little while anyway. I think I practiced it for about a year and never picked it back up again until recently.
Inspired by a visit to Vietnam on a recent Southeast Asia trip, I was so excited to try my hand at embroidery again. I was incredibly impressed by the intricate artistry of some works of embroidery artistry on display at a few gift shops I visited.
As the universe or the Instagram algorithm may have it, around the same time, I just so happened to see a post from a nationally known artistry agency asking if there were any embroidery artists available. I responded to the request, not thinking any opportunities would materialize for at least a few months. Little did I know that a few weeks later I would be doing embroidery on site for Alo Yoga’s launch of their Sweet Sleep Capsule sleep supplement! As part of the promotion, guests who purchased the supplement, had the opportunity to have a silk sleep mask personalized with hand embroidered initials!

As the event came to a close, I felt a sense of fulfillment knowing that I had helped create lasting memories for the guests of Alo Yoga's launch event. It was a reminder of why I love what I do and the joy that calligraphy and hand embroidery can bring to others.
